Session 1 introduces people to Christianity using the Gospel of Mark as its basis and aims to introduce people to Jesus as they read it - who he is, why he came and what it means to follow him. The word "gospel" means "good news." Mark begins his book of good news with three statements about Jesus: by the Old Testament prophets, by John the Baptist and by God himself.
