The doctrine of Theosis, which in English translates to “deification,” is at the very heart and core of Eastern Orthodoxy. What the Gospel message is to evangelicals and Bible-believing Christians, Theosis is to the Eastern Orthodox Church. One simply cannot fully understand the Eastern Orthodox Church without understanding this doctrine that is so central to them.
