Suffering and tragedy are commonplace in the life of God's people. Our Father in Heaven does not desire that we put on a tough face and pretend to be unaffected by our afflictions. Rather we are encouraged to take our deepest woes to the One who truly cares. David's prayer in Psalm 13 is a prayer for us as well when we need help to trust God in the dark.
