In this episode we discuss John Mark Comer's misuse of 2Cor 3:18. Comer uses it to support his mystical view of contemplation, drawing on contemplative mystics from church history rather than exegesis of the text. Bob DeWaay examines this beginning with verse 12 to show that this is not a meditative state. In this passage the veil is unbelief, not a failure to learn mystical practices to see Jesus. Comer has substituted faith in Christ and the testimony of the Apostles for a reworked version of Roman Catholic mysticism.
