False teachers claim that Jezebel in Revelation 2:20 is a spirit that is currently controlling much of society and even the church. They claim that the church must war against the Jezebel spirit to regain authority. In this system the modern prophets are the Elijah who fight against Jezebel. We show that Jezebel was a real person who was leading the church of Thyatira into immorality and idolatry. We also discuss how this relates to postmillennialism in America.
