We discuss the implications of being God’s inheritance. James 1 tells us to “consider it all joy” when we fall into various trials. We can “consider it all joy” when we rest in the promises of God and stand firm in the gospel knowing that the testing of our faith truly does produce endurance. Paul, Peter, and James all said that we are His inheritance. We are precious, God is at work in our trials and we are protected by God, therefore we need to stand in the gospel.
We go on to discuss Peter and Judas, showing that Peter’s faith was proven genuine, but Judas was proven to be a false convert who ultimately fell away.
