Bob DeWaay describes John Mark Comer’s version of spiritual formation that is sweeping through churches as an invasion of eastern religion that leads people away from the faith once for all handed down to the saints. Comer claims that spiritual formation leads us to our truest self. Bob uses 2Peter 1:1-4 to refute these false claims and show that we have obtained the same faith that the Apostles had based on the finished work of Christ. Our greatest need is not to find our "true self" through spiritual formation. It is to be born again by grace through faith.
