The most dreadful aspect of a superficial Christianity, moralistic, and therapeutic spirituality is that it does not actually save. We can believe we are spending our time, engaging in religious phenomenon, and all the wild be deceived of the great danger that we are in. This is the Christian "horror story." The Bible tells us not all is as it seems and not all is well for the sinner who does not have faith in Jesus Christ. Cultural Christianity is powerless to deliver sinners from the danger they are in. Only the Savior can do that through the cross.
