At its core, sin is a relationship and worship issue, where we do not believe the truth and goodness about God. Instead we choose to believe a lie about who He is. In sin, we worship ourselves and the world around us rather than our Creator. Turning in on ourselves, we turn away from God. We see independence from God as freedom. We become self-absorbed rather than loving others as ourselves.
