We fear when we have cancer. But we fear the wrong things, like:
Fear regarding the next blood test
Fear of more bad news
Fear that the cancer will come back
Fear that your spouse will be widowed (or become a widower)
Fear of the children losing a parent
Fear of not walking your daughter down the aisle at her wedding
Fear of missing out on grandchildren
Fear of judgment
Instead of fearing the above, we need to replace those unhelpful and unproductive fears with a godly fear. Is there a godly fear? Yes. And you probably know this common refrain from the Bible, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
