Christ Is Our Highpriest - P9 - Dishonoring God in Spiritual Warfare

Dominionist spiritual warfare teachers claim that there is power in our words. One text that they misuse to support this claim is Hebrews 3:1. Francis Frangipane writes, "Christ, as the High Priest of our Confession (Heb. 3:1), takes our words, whether in faith or unbelief, and allocates back to us eternal life in proportion to our words.” It is assumed in this teaching that Christ's priesthood is limited to our words. We discuss this quote and Hebrews 3:1 to show that Christ is our High Priest, not just the high priest over the words we say.
In John 15:26 Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would testify about Him. True believers, being indwelt by the Holy Spirit, confess Christ because they have been saved. Christ is the High Priest whom we confess; He is not made High Priest by our confession.
