History and the God of history would prove Spurgeon to be in the right, as Christians up to the present day continue to benefit from his uncompromising Gospel work. The ministries of those who tried to accommodate the spirit of their age did not age well and their preaching would fade from memory. The unchanging doctrines of Scripture speak clearly to every generation. Our own day in church history is very similar to Spurgeon's. There are more preachers preaching themselves than those who preach Christ and many are compromising to earn the love of the world. The prince of preachers has much to teach us and by the grace of God, we too will stand steadfast for our Lord in these times of trouble.
