Progressive Christianity is no friend of Penal Substitutionary Atonement. They flip the truth that God is love to be "Love is God". In doing this, they cancel anything in Scripture that speaks of God's wrath against sin. Progressive Christians need to be asked, "Is the Bible God's Word or not?" Because Scripture is crystal clear about the wrath of God and Christ taking our place. If you deny this so that you can be culturally sensitive, then you gut the heart of the Christian faith and there's nothing left but empty words.
