This is a helpful discussion on the Sheologians Podcast about Empathy- how the culture employs it and its dangers. We need to think biblically and focus on Scripture, do what God instructs us to do in the Bible, and use biblical categories. Too often, Christians seem to default to our godless culture and adopt its categories, and tries fitting the Bible into those man made categories. Man needs to shape their worldview from Scripture and employ Scripture's categories and standards.

Is empathy a sin? No. Wokeness is sinful. Empathy is not.

I am to weep with those that weep (Rom 12). At the same time, I refuse to let woke culture hijack a good term. Nor will I stop using it because some preacher makes people an offender for a word.

Empathy has indeed been hijacked by a godless culture, like so many other things. The point I'm making is we need to do as Scripture commands, love our neighbor- weep with those who weep, rejoice with those who rejoice, etc. We need to fulfill the Great Commission, preach the Gospel, and teach people to obey all that Christ commands. We don't need the godless culture to tell us how to do these things, Scripture is sufficient.

What some would have us do is sin with those who sin- bear false witness and use the preferred pronoun of someone rebelling against God's created order, affirm homosexual marriage, etc. That's the warning going out about empathy.

Too many people profess Christianity and are led by their feelings into sin and conform to the world.
