Here is a controversial one. Is there a difference between our own personal relationship with Jesus/God and the God of church buildings being sermonized? This is so hard hitting cause I have been in 7 mental health hospitals just cause I don't get why churches need to do sermons every week till we die of old age. I started to doubt my personal relationship with God cause my handicapped cerebral palsy brain doesn't get all the complexity of a church building. Can a a church building make you go crazy but does Jesus continue to see people through the complexity of church buildings? And why do the AG docs give me peace but church buildings give me anxiety?

Hi Daniel, I think the gathering of the Church is essential for believers to receive the ordinary means of grace (including the preaching of the Word), and so that we an serve/love one another, and build each other up with the spiritual gifts that the Lord has given us. I know for some people who may be introverted, this can not be that appealing. In some churches that may be too large, this might not always be easy to do if you are not involved in a smaller group that you fellowship with. But we can't forsake the gathering, or obey the "one another" commands without meeting together. Christ died for the Church. When we love and serve our brothers and sisters, we are actually serving Christ Himself. I think if we are constantly being reminded of the gospel in the sermons that we hear, we should want to hear more, and want to respond in gratitude by obeying the Lord. If you're in a unhealthy Church, the preaching could certainly be less appealing, or even frustrating for those who understand why the gospel/Christ needs to be central. I don't know your situation, but I hope that you are able to work through that anxiety.
Well said. I just think it's all me. I just don't get why Christians look forward to heaven and a better here after. Every Christian knows things will get worse but are we trying to make Jesus come faster,. That's what I thought I had to do cause I see the sadness in Christianity of what living in this life is not good enough but we all have breath still so why get anxiety over a better here after? If this is a touchy subject if u want to continue to this message me. Or email me.
I hope AG could also come up with beautifully written scripted format drama (or other interesting genre) series/movies that subtly incorporates Gospel/Biblical truths. Perhaps crowdfunding is a nice way of funding these, just like what The Chosen TV series does.
