Hi there,
Really enjoying the God Doesn't Whisper series so far. It's challenging many of the superstitious ways I've tried to hear God's voice in the past. I've finished the first 4 episodes. I have two questions:
1. Jim discourages listening for feelings as personal revelation. Why then does Paul talk about having "no rest in my spirit" in 2 Cor. 2:12 -13? He mentioned this verse in the Open Door section of Ep. 4 but didn't talk about Paul seeming to be led by his feelings here.
2. He also said that nowhere in Scripture does it advocate or show people using a fleece to determine the will of God. I agree with the conclusions he makes about Gideon, but what about the priests using Urim and Thummim? Also what about the 11 disciples casting lots for Mattias in Acts chapter 1? Or the many other places where God's will seems to be determined by casting lots such as the lot falling to Achan in Joshua 7 or to Jonathan in 1 Sam 12, or Jonah in chapter 1? I'm having a hard time seeing how lots would be different than a fleece.
