The NAR and some Charismatics flaunt a counterfeit power and quench and grieve the Holy Spirit. They claim to perform signs and wonders and to experience the power of God, while accusing their critics of ‘having the appearance of godliness but denying its power.’ Yet they are far from being the supernatural people they imagine themselves to be — instead they are swollen with conceit, arrogant, and lovers of self who creep into households and lead many astray.
