Shofars have been noted throughout the Scriptures, particularly in the Old Testament. They have served in specific purposes both in war and in praising God. These instruments are used frequently in corporate gatherings in the Charismatic movement and especially in the New Apostolic Reformation. Some believe that blowing a shofar expels demons, and many have used them in alleged prophetic acts, with the belief that angels are released and that the atmosphere is altered because of the blast from this ram's horn. But is this a Biblical use?
