The next two areas that warrant a discussion in Eastern Orthodoxy are prayer and monasticism. These practices are considered central to the life of the Orthodox Church. However, as we have seen throughout this series, although these may seem to be righteous practices, how Eastern Orthodoxy practices prayer is a far cry from the beauty and wisdom of prayer as presented in Scripture.
